Listen to the World Premiere of Moksha’s ‘Here To Go’ album this Sunday

Moksha’s new album, “Here To Go”, will be premiered tomorrow, July 17, on 91.5 fm KUNV on a show called The Lyons Den. The show is on from 7-11 pm PDT and we’ll be in the studio with the host, George Lyons, talking about the album.

I’m really proud of this album. I played baritone saxophone on 4 tracks and was joined by Peter Apfelbaum, Bill Ortiz, and Jeff Cressman in the horn section. Peter wrote the horn parts and they are killing!

You can listen to the premiere on KUNV’s streaming broadcast here.

Here are some links to the band and musicians involved with the album:

Video: Moksha – You Haven’t Done Nothin’

Here’s a video from the August 8th Moksha show at Blakes on Telegraph in Berkeley, CA. Special guest Jennifer Hartswick is singing Stevie Wonder’s You Haven’t Done Nothin’. Jen’s also playing trumpet, Jeff Cressman (another special guest) is on trombone, and I’m playing tenor saxophone.

I spent last week in San Francisco and Berkeley with Moksha. The band has been on a two-week tour and they brought the horns out for 3 nights of Phish Aftershow Parties. Phish played the 3 nights at the Greek Theater in Berkeley and we were at Blakes on Telegraph following the Phish shows.

Before the shows, we had two great days of rehearsal in San Francisco with Jennifer Hartswick and Jeff Cressman. Jennifer plays trumpet with Trey Anastasio Band and also leads the Jennifer Hartswick Band. She plays great trumpet and is a killing singer. Jeff Cressman is playing trombone with Santana these days, but he has played with Phish in the past and his daughter, Natalie, plays trombone in Trey’s band now (What a family, huh?!?!) Jeff graciously let us use his house for rehearsals and it was a great space.

The shows went off really well. The crowds and the music got better every night. Jennifer and Jeff, on top of being top-notch musicians, are both great people and it was awesome to hang with them and make music together. I can honestly say that last weekend was the most fun I’ve had as a musician in a long time. I hope to do it again soon.

Here is a little video taken by somebody at one of the shows. I’m playing tenor.

Upcoming Moksha Tour Dates

Moksha will be hitting the road on Wednesday (7/28) for a two-week tour of California. We just played on the rooftop of Binion’s Horseshoe Casino on Fremont St. in Las Vegas this past weekend. The shows were a lot of fun with great crowds (good numbers and good people!). Moksha has a base of really dedicated fans who really support us a lot. We couldn’t do what we do without them.

A shot from the rooftop by Erik Kabik (Notice that it was 95°. This photo was taken at around 1:00am. Ahhh, summertime in Vegas.)

As for the tour, I will be joining the band for dates in Berkeley, CA on August 5-7. We’ll be playing at Blakes on Telegraph for the Phish Aftershow Party. The rest of the horn section will include Jennifer Hartswick (Trey Anastasio Band) on trumpet and Jeff Cressman (Santana) on trombone.
